Meet Kiwi, Animal Ambassador
Did you know that owning a Quaker Parrot as a pet is illegal in 10 states? They are considered invasive agriculture pests due to their adaptable nature and communal nesting habits.
Kiwi has been an animal ambassador at Rescue Ranch since August 2017 after his family left him behind. He was only about two years old when he arrived.Over the years, Kiwi has gained the hearts of the staff, volunteers, interns and guests alike. He does not show affection immediately, instead, he requires patience, consistency and a sense of humor due to his silly antics (don’t turn your back on him!) He can be won over with laughter, hand clapping and a sunflower seed…or three.
Kiwi loves to eat and will be the first of our birds to eat his vegetables, including broccoli. He also loves to laugh, take long baths in the sink and make kissy noises when he thinks no one is watching.
Kiwi is an excellent ambassador and will willingly interact with guests during our programs. We love our “little green monster” and we know you will too!
Our commitment is simple: to give Kiwi the very best quality of life here at Rescue Ranch.Your $25 monthly sponsorship helps provide the essentials he depends on - veterinary care, nutritious foods, enrichment and so much more.
When you sponsor Kiwi, you become part of the team quietly standing beside him. As part of his circle of care, you’ll receive a Certificate of Sponsorship and occasional updates so you can follow his journey.
