Meet Pete, Animal Ambassador

We have a new noise maker in the house (watch out Lover!) and his name is Pete! He is an absolutely gorgeous, approximately 8 year old, Sun Conure.Pete arrived at the Ranch in June 2026 after his sweet owner moved into an assisted living facility.

Birds need time to adjust and acclimate after a major life change, and we are happy to say that Pete is doing great! He actively plays with his toys, dances when he sees us coming, makes a mess while taking a bath in his water dish and communicates, loudly, when he wants us to know he’s hungry.

His initial vet visit went great, though there were some dietary changes that we needed to address. Let’s just say, he’s more of a fruit than veggie kinda guy!

As Pete continues to become more at ease and comfortable in his surroundings, we will continue to work on socializing him and getting him program ready. Patience is key and we are excited to see him come out of his shell even more!
