Meet Valentino, Animal Ambassador

Last Updated 6/23/2023Posted in Ambassadors, Homepage

Valentino is one of our Katahdin sheep and the son to Sally Mae!  Valentino is the only animal that has ever been born at the ranch.  His mom Sally came to us in 2019 as a pregnant stray and gave birth to Valentino only nine days after she arrived.  Valentino was born the day before Valentine's Day, hence the name Valentino.

Val is very special to us here because we have quite literally known him his entire life and it has been so amazing to see him grow.  He is quite the momma's boy and enjoys spending time with her, Cotton and one of our Pygmy goats Maxie.  He loves when it's time to eat and will follow you around the yard hoping he can sneak a little bite!

Val has a gorgeous tan and cream colored coat that gets nice and fluffy in the winter.  All of our sheep here are hair sheep, meaning they have a combination of hair and wool!  This  means that they will actually shed their hair in the warmer months and we do not have to worry about shearing them.  Although they can look a little silly when they start to shed, they look nice and sleek in the summertime.  If you ever come visit the ranch make sure to stop and say hello to Val!
