Carmax Cares about Rescue Ranch

June is Carmax Cares month and the Carmax Foundation joined us at Rescue Ranch this week for Carmax Cares day of service. The crew of 6 employees focused on a number of much needed maintenance projects around the property. Their hard work made tremendous impacts in the pastures and surrounding property grounds that included mowing, weed eating and landscaping.

The group included Carmax employees who made their way to the ranch from Mooresville, Charlotte and an incredible journey from Charleston and Greenville, South Carolina. Their enthusiasm and genuine curiosity about the various programs held here at the ranch and our animal ambassadors seemed to help the work projects and time in the sun pass quickly.

Corporate groups and businesses who encourage their employees to engage in these types of volunteer opportunities are exceptional examples of what community is all about. At Rescue Ranch, we depend on the community - and the Carmax Foundation team is making an impact for us and our community.  Their hard work this week helps allow the employees and regular volunteers to focus on direct animal care initiatives and educational programming to carry our mission.
