Meet Lucy, Animal Ambassador

Lucy is our longest standing animal ambassador! Having arrived in March of 2013, she is our first snake at the Ranch and she has been a part of the Ranch since before our education building was built.

Lucy has been an integral part of our education programs since the beginning. Teaching individuals all about snakes - how to properly care for them, their unique adaptations and the important roles they play in the environment.

Choosing to spend her days tucked into a corner (Ball Pythons are quite a reclusive species), Lucy does enjoy a nice soak in her water dish and she will become especially active when her enclosure is being cleaned and sprayed with warm water. She is a curious snake and environmental enrichment is one of the best ways to make sure she stays active and healthy.
